The Club’s instructors and coaches are highly experienced and have national and
international qualifications. Those teaching in the coming season include:
John Cook (Snowsport England Level 4
Coach, IVSI Licence, BASI 2)
John is a real enthusiast, has a dry, Liverpudlian
sense of humour and, besides skiing, enjoys
playing ‘Octopush’ - a kind of under-water polo
Lance Robinson (Snowsport England Level 4 Coach &
Level 1 Tutor, IVSI Licence)
Lance is a teacher by profession, and has been developing
members’skiing skills for nearly twenty years. An ex-marathon
runner, he’s now into swimming & cycling as well as spending
time in the Alps.
Rob Evans (Snowsport England Level 2 Instructor,
BASI 2)
Rob developed his skiing & teaching skills with MSC.
He’s also been a keen racer & currently works at
Chill Factor in Manchester as one of their instructors
Liz Soane (Snowsport England Club Instructor)
Besides having taught at the Club for many years,
Liz is also our long-standing Newsletter Editor. She
is a real enthusiast who balances her love of skiing
with that of sailing
Helen Robinson (Snowsport England Club Instructor)
Helen first skied in Bavaria as a teenager in fairly
primitive conditions. 15 years later she took it up more
seriously &, like Liz, has taught at the Club for many
years
Gareth Shelbourne & Tom Lewis two young men who began their ski
training with MSC at the Oval, are now both professional ski instructors and
are to be congratulated on being well on the way to completing their top
level BASI Level 4 Qualification. Mel Wahlers has completed her Snowsport
England level 1 training & supervised instruction and is now awaiting
accreditation & trainee David Gould is about to set off for a season working
under the auspices of the Canadian Ski Instructors’ Association.We wish him well.
