Merseyside Ski Club meets every Wednesday night at the Oval, Bebington, Merseyside, between September and July. The club has been running since 1963 and in that time has developed the skiing of hundreds of people, from recreational skiers looking to get more out of their holidays to skiers with ambitions to gain qualifications through the ESC. As well as holding two adult sessions and a family session, the Club currently provides tuition for approximately 40 juniors each Wednesday Night, evidence of the club's dedication to its junior members.

It is due the dedication of the club’s instructors that instruction is given to skiers of all levels from novices through to advanced skiers looking to improve their technique. The club currently has 31 qualified instructors, 27 of whom are actively involved in teaching at the Oval : 3 ESC Coaches, one of whom is a BASI 1, 1 BASI 2, 3 BASI 3s, 11 ASSIs, 11 Club Instructors and one Artificial Ski Slope Performance Coach. We also have one BASI 3 Nordic, SSE Rollerski Instructor and Artificial Ski Slope Nordic Instructor.

As well as skiing at the Oval, the club organises long slope visits to Llandudno throughout the season and improvement courses at Llandudno and Rossendale using national coaches.

Racing is also part of club activities and MSC compete in the Rossendale Summer Race league as well as holding their own annual competition.

Each year MSC organises many other events both ski and non-ski related for their members. In recent years there have been club holidays to Serre Chevalier and Courchevel in France and weekend trips to Aviemore, Scotland. We have enjoyed many social events including a talk by Paralympic competitor Steve Shaw, line dancing, Christmas disco, Junior disco, skittles evening, treasure hunt, and Shell Island Camp.
